I’m not sure this is an Autoptimize issue, or simply a recent bug with Safari.

But in the last few weeks, all lazy loaded images load slowly and late on Safari, even on iPad and iPhone. It was not the case before.

It used to be super fast and even better than Chrome.

When I check with a Chrome incognito session, everything is fine and all images load quickly.

But Microsoft Edge is also slightly slower than it was previously.

Googe Page Speed Insights and GTmetrix report that all is fine.

Do you have any thoughts on this or how to trace or resolve the problem?

AO uses lazysizes and in the default configuration as done by AO the belpw-the-fold images are loading after the (on)load event (the above-the-fold images load asap if excluded from lazyload and non-excluded above-the-fold images load as soon as lazysizes kicks in). If you(r site) has other resources that delay the load event in some way, this will cause lazysizes to load the below-the-fold images later as well.

Well that gives me some clues to follow.

So I suppose I need trace what (on)load event might be slowing things down.

My guess is Adsense JS code, as I just checked a page without it, and it sems to load okay.

Anyway, thanks for responding so quickly. (As usual!)
