    Hello,

I’ve been working on improving my website’s performance, particularly focusing on the Google PageSpeed Insights recommendations. One area where I’ve encountered a challenge is related to the lazy_placeholder.gif used by the Photo Gallery plugin. The placeholder image is being flagged by Google for serving with dimensions that “negatively impact the user experience.”

The plugin generates a placeholder with a displayed size of 525×525, but the actual size is 1×1. This mismatch is causing Google to recommend higher resolution images to improve clarity and loading performance.

“Serves images with low resolution: Image natural dimensions should be proportional to the display size and the pixel ratio to maximize image clarity.?Learn how to provide responsive images.”

I understand the function of a placeholder image so I’m not sure what to do here. Nonetheless, I could replace the placeholder GIF manually, but it would likely revert after each plugin update. This issue affects both user experience and my site’s search ranking.

Would it be possible for the team to address this in a future update by providing a higher resolution placeholder or a method to configure the lazy load behavior in a way that doesn’t trigger this feedback from Google?

    Hello @jagarolik ,

Thank you for posting your issue in our forum.
Unfortunately we do not have your required solution at this moment, however, the feature you wish to have would be a great addition. So could you please add your suggestion to our Submit Your Idea page?
As for now, you can disable the lazy load from PG settings.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Best Regards,
    Yasin
