LazyLoad placeholder takes over image

@rudolfl by any chance, do you use an Apple device with the Safari browser?

I might have the same issue. However it works fine on Windows and Linux, but on Safari it shows the placeholder instead. I don’t own a Apple device myself but someone who visited our site today pointed out they didn’t work.

No, I am using Firefox and Chrome under Linux and also tried on my Android phone

the issue seems to be from optimole.com

if you view that image with yellow rectangle , you will see https://mlla0xuxwlls.i.optimole.com/w:133/h:73/q:eco/https://hatshop.melbourne/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/logo-small1.png where it should be https://mlla0xuxwlls.i.optimole.com/w:124/h:68/q:mauto/https://hatshop.melbourne/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/logo-small1.png

it’s just like the optimole is trying to resize or optimize the placeholder image ,instead of the real image

Optimole is an image optimisation/CDN plugin. I think it “caches” the lazyload placeholder and real logo. Somehow JS that replaces placeholder with real stuff is not working? I am going to ask Optimole support to look at it as well

yes… that’s kind of my point

when you have lazyload , the same image will be loaded twice, first one is placeholder , then second one is the real image

the optimole mistakenly caches the first placeholder image and replaced in after page is fully loaded

In the end I had to fix it by excluding the image from Optimole lazyload
