I have approx. 10 divisions in my League. I have created them as individual leagues. I have tried importing matches and experimenting with the fields. I have now tried to delete all of the matches and there are none showing in the actual matches page section. However, my main page for League Manager overview still shows 2 matches for a particluar league although they do not actually show up under the matches page. When I import matches it adds two more than actual are imported. Does anyone know how I can remedy this issue?

Can you update your install to the latest and do a new test, then send me your import file so I can l test it, please?

    Hi LaMonte.
I ended up finding someone else with the same issue who went into their SQL DB directly to remove the numbers from the fields. IT was a bit ‘clunky’, but worked quite well.

I moved on to adding other things to the site now. You can view the site at https://www.lmsoftball.com. I changed the term ‘matches’ to ‘games’, and have identified the ‘match days’ as actual ‘game weeks’.

The issue that I am having now is that the standings are not updating properly. I am not sure if this is related to the DB modifications or issues I was having. One of the divisions appears to be partially working, but I am unable to identify what I did differently with it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your follow-up.

More Information on the Scoring Issue.
I have tried to change the Points Rule in preferences, but it will not change from ‘user defined’ to anything else so I am unable to test updating the scores by changing it to the 2 Point Rule (assuming this may be the correct rule for softball).

Anyone know how to overcome this limitation and change the points rule?

Glad that you were able to move through your problem, but if you could still send me your import file so I can see what the problem is to prevent it in the future it would be helpful. Obviously we don’t want every one jumping into the DB to fix problems when we can probably fix the core problem fairly easily.

I’ll have a look at your site and get back with some questions shortly.

    Thanks

Sure – which import file would you like?

since I also was unable to resolve changing the Points Rule, I manually added 1 point to both the win and win in OT fields. It seems to be working, but am seeing a few anomalies – especially in the Bantam B league….not sure where .5 GB comes from and also since eight teams have won their first game, only 7 of them are showing as tied for first place. How come the 8th team is showing as in 8th place rather than tied for 1st? We only have a single point score for a win (nothing for tie and nothing for loss)….weird.

If you can send whatever import file you used that caused a problem and then tell me how you built the file, did you export existing records and replace the new or build your import file from scratch?

There are a number of problems in the Bantam B standings, doesn’t look like it’s sorting properly at all. Are you on 3.8.8 or an earlier version?

I assume that you used the ‘baseball’ setting in your preferences, yes?

The reason you get an 0.5 in games behind is the formula used to calculate that is:
((1st place team wins – wins of team being worked on) + (losses of current team – 1st place team losses))/2

When I get some time in the next couple of days I’ll set up a baseball league and look at what’s going on in there. In the meantime, send me those files so I can see why you’re getting extra records. Chances are there’s extra data at the end that you don’t realize.

I am using v 3.8.1 and have not upgrade yet for two reasons – 1. I have made some changes to some of the files and 2. wanted to ensure that I understood how the program worked better before I upgraded and potentially caused more headaches for myself….
Yes, I am using baseball setting.
I have sent you the file via email.

OK, one of the things I’ve been working on is eliminating some bugs that have been causing issues for awhile, 3.8.1 still has those. I know how it is though, my main site that I started using LeagueManager on is a few updates behind because I have so many things that I had updated on so many files… Fortunately, a lot of the changes I made were those bug fixes, so I’ve put the in the core, the number of files I have to check all the time has finally started to go down…

Anyway, I’ll have a look at your file and we’ll see what we can do.

    Thanks

I had a same problem and I find strange solution.
I add by mistake two matches in league and when I erase them standings table was still showing 3 points and one played game more for those 4 teams.
Solution was that I put -3 points next to two teams that won the game manually and after that standings get right.
    Hope this help someone
