LeagueManager for German Archery Bundesliga
-
Hello everyone,
I am currently looking for a wordpress plugin to display results of the German Bundesliga in archery. Until last year it was quite easy, because two teams shot each 24 arrows, the one with the higher score would win and get 2 match points. If there is a tie, both would get 1 point.
So, I could use about every plugin, set it to football and enter the points as goals. Then the match results were something like 233 goals vs. 229, which is a bit weird, but it was just right. I just needed to have it sorted after points (which is standard) and after that, total scored points, which was goals for the plugin.
This year, the whole thing changed, and now I have a really hard time figuring out a way to display the results. The rules are as follows:
Instead of 24 arrows, two teams will now shoot up to five sets of 6 arrows each. After every set, 2 set points are given to the team with the higher score, or 1 point to each team if the score is tied. The team that reaches 6 setpoints is the winner and gets 2 matchpoints, so it can be decided after 3 sets already, or go over all 5 sets. If both teams have 5 setpoints after 5 sets, the match is tied and both teams get 1 matchpoint.
Sorting in the table is first total matchpoints and then difference between gained setpoints and lost setpoints.
I know that this system is pretty close to tennis, so my first shot was to use the tennis settings. Of course the result of a set is now something like 59:57 instead of 6:4 and as I understand it, there isnt really a tied set in tennis. Also, a set result of 7:1 or 7:3 is possible which is not in tennis as I understand it.
I tried creating a new archery.php where I wanted to edit all the setting to what is needed here, but the plugin crashed. I know some php, but not enough as it seems. :-). I know the problem is a bit special, sorry for that. Mostly I want to know if it is possible at all or if this is too far away from design.
