    Hey guys,

Sadly, Leaky Paywall is causing a lot of layout shift on my website.

Leaky accounted for above 10% of revenues last month, so I’d really not want to give it up, but unluckily layout shift will soon be a major core web vital for Google and it’s something I need to fix with priority.

My developer has pinpointed it was Leaky already, since once the main plugin is switched off, the shift doesn’t happen anymore.

Any idea how to tackle this?

Can you explain a bit more what you mean by “shift”? I’m not sure what you are referring to.

Sure, you know about Google’s Core Web Vitals?

They will soon be important ranking signals for Google.

It includes speed of course, as well as “layout shift”, which in simple terms is “how much the webpage moves around while it loads”.

So if you open any blog post on thepowermoves.com, you’ll see that the bio box loads first, and then only later comes the content.

Gotcha. Are you using the Alternative Restriction handling setting?

    I am, yes.
Should I try to untick it?

Just tried it and that was it indeed, thank you Jeremy.

Going to test around now with that option unchecked and report here.
