• I’ve been playing with it for a while and I honestly believe that Gutenberg should just remain a plugin as the old way of working works still very much for me today and for those I build and maintain WP websites for.

    In essence Gutenburg is nice but KEEP IT OPTIONAL and not part of the core. Perhaps an extra tick in the install process could perform an auto-install for those who want to use Gutenberg from the very first installation moment…

    On the other hand I do see the potential for the future BUT only when theme and plugin authors adopt it on a big scale as well.

    Perhaps an idea would be to make the Twenty Eighteen theme a showcase for Gutenberg based on a prototyping framework like Bootstrap 4, that would be awesome and would surely drag me towards the Gutenberg side.
