• I have a clothing store, there are many variations in colors and sizes

I installed your plugin and tested it created many products with variations in color and size

But I don’t need the size, it looks strange like duplicate products

Is it possible to leave only color variations and create products based on them

  • Hi @tores54,

Thanks for that idea but currently we can’t do that with our plugin. We’re sorry about that!

    Regards,

yea, I second this. This makes it really tough to use this plugin for any type of clothing. Having each size variation appear as an individual product unfortunately makes using this plugin not an option. I tried to work around this by hiding the parent variations, then manually setting all of the variations to “disabled” and choosing just the Large size as “enabled”. But then this causes the title to appear as “T-Shirt – Black, L”. So then I tried to override the product title and remove the attribute suffix entirely, but it’s unreliable.

Is there some sort of caching or saving product titles to the db going on with this plugin? It seems like the first render after making the changes, it works how I want. But then after re-initializing, it saves the full product title, and I can’t override how it’s displayed.

I guess unless you expect to support hiding certain attributes in the product title, then I’ll have to purchase a plugin that allows that. Bummer, because I think this plugin was good otherwise.

    Hi @jflmaple21

Doing that trick isn’t a stable solution. This plugin shows all variations of a variable product and it works the way it should.

In your case, please try to use another plugin from us https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpc-linked-variation/. With this plugin, you can combine many variable products into a new group – like a new variable product. You can try the demo page here https://demo.wpclever.net/wpclv/product/cap-large/

@wpclever I’m looking at your demo https://demo.wpclever.net/wpclv/product-category/clothing/accessories/ and this is exactly what I DON’T want. I do not want the size attribute to be factor in creating a variation when it is part of the clothing category. Having “Large” and “Medium” show up as two different products is not desired. But having “Black” and “Yellow” show up as two different products is desired.

I know you are saying that showing all permutations is how this product should work. Technical requirements-wise, yeah, you nailed it. But real life-wise, sizes are generally consistent between certain types of clothing and it is not a unique enough attribute to display sizes individually. Colors, sure. But sizes, no. T-Shirts come in S, M, L, XL, 2XL. That’s what’s expected. No reason they should take up tiles on the Product List pages.
