Leave reply with empty input gives error page?

    Is it common that users will be sent to some errorpage as soon they won’t give any input in the commentbox as reply?

    Msg on that error page is: Error: please type a comment.
    Is it possible to have some kind of trigger which popup as soon they click while the input field is empty? Any plugin which does the trick?
