Less space between widgets without using CSS tab

  • Using Modularity Lite Theme:

    Is there a way to have less space between widgets in the sidebar without using the CSS tab (would need to upgrade to use it)?

    Or, is there a way to modify the appearance of a custom menu in the sidebar (colours, size, etc)?

    Looking to have our main widgets* have little or no space between them.
