    Hi Woo!

    I have this feature activated in my woo settings;

    “When creating an account, automatically generate an account password”

    At checkout customers ONLY use their email to create an account and to place an order.

    Customers receive an email with their auto password and auto username.

    I would like customers to receive a link in that same email to create their own password AFTER they have checked out.

    Almost like a reset password link to create a new password when they sign in for the first time.

    The main goal is to make the checkout process as smooth as possible with only their email and then once they have an account, I would like them to create their password when they sign in for the first time.

    What would be the best thing to do here?

    Thank you in advance ??

  • Hi @marcel23awe,

    What a great question! It’s not possible to do that with WooCommerce by default, so I would recommend looking for a plugin that adds that functionality. I’m not aware of a plugin that does this, but there are so many plugins and there may be one out there ??

    You could also accomplish this with a customization. One option might be to adjust the email template so that it sends a password reset link rather than the set password, or to change which email is triggered for account setup after checkout.

    I’d recommend checking out the the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

    You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

    Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with!
