let people embed video in comments

    if i am logged in as admin then i can paste a youtube or facebook embed code and video it appears in comments,

    if i log out and act as a reader if i paste the embed i just get a blank space

    would like my readers to be able to embed ..can this be done?

    using optimize press, self-hosted wordpress not wp.com

    doesnt work..

    just to be clear I am talking about embedding inside comments not posts –

    I have the admin settings turn link to embed ticked too

    any ideas?

    Embedding within comments isn’t supported by the WordPress core – although you might be able to find a plugin that adds this functionality.

    its weird that it works fine though when I am logged in .. i can post a video comment

    I think so. I vaguely recall that the embed options were cut back shortly before 3.0 was released.

    solved it with a plug in called smart you tube

    only think is you have to tell people to add a V after the http which is a pain !
