    Hi,

Users can follow any other member.

If you mean if there is a feature to block people from following you, then no, this isn’t implemented yet.

Hi R-a-y and thanks for your quick reply

Maybe I didn‘t explain myself (sorry for my english). What I meant is something like Facebook does when a user can decide if wants or not been followed for anyone and similar in Twitter when the user decides if her/his tweets are private or public.

For your plugin the question is: Can I (in settings maybe) mark if I want to be followed and unmark if I want not? The thing is not all of users wants to “lose“ their privacy with this feature and preffers decide if wants or not been followed.

I hope I could explain myself.

That functionality you are looking for is part of BP core. It’s the Friends component (check out Settings/Buddypress to enable it). That said, by default nothing on your buddypress site is “Private” based on friending or following for that matter. You would need to find another plugin to provide privacy based on friendship.

    Hi mrjarbenne

The option I‘m talking about is very different from friends component because is just an option to activate or deactivate the follow feature per user basis, is just something like:

    Settings-Follow-Enable follow function (yes/no)

Is just give the option to every user to enable or disable de follow function for him/herself.

The problem is the BP Friends component doesn’t have a per-user setting like this, so should BP Follow allow this?

I think it would make sense if BP Core had a privacy API built-in, then BP Follow could extend that foundation.

I’ll think about adding this to a future release.
