Letter “F” gets replaced for “=46”. Why?

  • Has anybody come up with a “=46” character when posting to WordPress through email?

    I do all my postings through my email, and what a wonderful and convenient this feature has been. Just recently I have come up with this strange character on my blog. It only happens when I start my posting with the upper-case letter “F”. For example if you start the blog with “For Immediate Release…” The text then gets replaced for “=46or Immediate Release…”

    What do you think of this guys? I did a search for “46or” on google and seems like this is an epidemic, literally. This is everywhere! Can this be a WordPress bug or something else?

  • I have no clue…
    But is WP set to display UTF8 or ISO ?
    (but I don’t see why that would make a difference anyway. “F” is not a diacritical caracter…)
