Leverage browser caching + expires header

    Hey there!
    My page https://successfularchistudent.com/ has been running slow for a while with ~4 second load time and a 1.8mb page size. I’ve tried coming back to speeding this up multiple times but every time I do I get lost and can’t find any real solutions.

    When I run GTMetrix my “Leverage Browser Caching” has a score of 39% and “Expires Header” is at 0%.

    I am using W3 Total Cache and have turned on these features, cleared the cache, and retested and there is no difference made.

    I have tried adding the code manually to my .htaccess file to set expires header but still no change in results.

    Is there something I am doing wrong? I would really appreciate some help with this.

    I am sorry about the issue you are having with the browser caching and I am happy to assist you with this.
    If you expand “Leverage Browser Caching” and “Expires Header”, you can see that those are the 3rd party (external) resources. Unfortunately, W3 Total Cache cannot deal with those and neither can any other plugin.
    This is what is causing the increased load time on your website. You should consider what is more beneficial to you, those external resources or the load speed of your web site.

    That’s quite a shame. I’m just wondering, it seems that a lot of the load time comes from Facebook and my email platform Klaviyo. These are 2 vital things I need, surely there is a way to reduce their load amount without removing them altogether?

    I understand that Klaviyo has to load the opt-in forms I have on my site, but Facebook is merely tracking my website for statistics and isn’t actually directly used. Should it be causing the vast amount of load time that it is?

    It just doesn’t seem right.
