Leverage image browser caching

I very much like this simple but effective plugin. However — Pingtools is suggesting to “Leverage browser caching” for images.

What would be the best, easiest way to fix this?

I’ve been reading the docs and seems one way is to use Optimus, am I correct? Anyway, I would prefer not to.
