Indeed we didn’t communicate about v3 much to our previous users. This is because the migration script from v2 to v3 is not ready yet and we’re not able to safely migrate data for v2 users. When this is ready we will inform all v2 users and help them migrate to the latest version.

However, if you want to start from scratch with v3, you can use your Envato purchase code here: https://getawesomesupport.com/envato-license-migration/

You can find your Envato purchase code in the download page of your CodeCanyon account.

Please stop insulting your users by providing false information. You’re seriously telling us it takes over 6 months write a migration script? All you’re doing is putting a load of sad smiley faces and saying it’s work in progress. Yet you have time to develop your premium offering? You’ve shown little to no respect at all to those who supported you in v1 and v2.

I encourage anyone who’s using v2 or earlier to write a review here telling people of their experience. I’m sure as more existing users become aware you’ll see a lot more reviews being left. I’d strongly encourage you to stick to your promise and get the migration script out.

We do not provide false information, and we certainly aren’t insulting our users in any way.

Getting the migration script together is not just a matter of time. It’s also a matter of compatibility and resources. We have finally addressed the compatibility issues with the release of our latest extension (Filepicker), but resources are not as easy to get.

We have time to develop our premium offering and we aren’t ashamed of it. The reason why we moved Awesome Support from CodeCanyon to this economic model is because we couldn’t afford working on it anymore. To keep the plugin alive, the first thing we need is to generate enough revenues.

I believe we’ve shown more than enough respect to clients using v1/2 by giving $70 worth of addons for free when nothing forced us to do so for example.

Finally, we have every intention to release the migration script. We are completely aware that the delay can be frustrating, but it will be released.

I wrote a more detailed answer to your review about this concern.

    Hello Julien,

The fact that you feel respect has been shown by simply offering free addons is in itself an insult your users. Do you think your users care more about getting something for free to ensuring a smooth migration for their own users to v3? We would much rather pay for the addons and have the migration script in place. For us, the user experience is far more valuable than making quick money.

What about security issues? Can you guarantee that v2 is as secure as v3? No you cannot, as the development ceased a long time ago.

I think you should be ashamed that you’ve continued to develop your premium offering and have not invested sufficient time in supporting your historical users with a migration. Given that it is these same historical users that supported your plugin in the early days.

I encourage you to develop your premium offering, I’m sure your users will find these very useful. But currently, from what you’ve said, clearly you’re doing this at the expense of your historical users.

Again, this is a heavy reason for why the 1* review was provided. Given your behavior thus far how can we be sure that in future your new users will not be subjected to the same treated when a more prosperous opportunity presents itself?

Anyway, there’s no more reason to continue this discussion. Thanks for your time. I’m sure there will be many more historical users that will voice their concerns over the coming months through the use of the review portal.

I hear you and I don’t think it’s helping anyone to continue this debate. You feel left behind, and we feel we’re doing what’s best for our users, the plugin and our company.

I will just say again that we do value our early users and we are very thankful for their support. We will absolutely get the migration script done, but we also need to pay our bills and put food on the table.

That’s great to hear. I look forward to adjusting our review in future.

    Thanks for your time.
