    Since I am not comfortable adding a recent posts page with PHP by myself, I found this plugin did the trick!

    All I did was install it.. Create a WordPress page… Add the shortcode, and BAM instant recent posts page.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

    I will add that the shortcode is a little hard to find after just installing the plugin (I had to visit the webpage to find it).

    Also if you want to customize the layout of the posts you need to be a little comfortable with CSS. I managed to make a grid style layout no problem at all!
