    Hi,

I had to deactivate LifterLMS plugin yesterday as when its activated no media (images, videos, etc) will load on my site, either on live site or in wp admin.

When i first noticed the media issue i deactivated each plugin and that was how i confirmed LifterLMS was suddenly causing this new issue.

I am currently testing the free LifterLMS version.

I also reproduced the issue with it on a second site.

My site is very minimal and new. I don’t believe its caused by a theme as when i changed themes on one site, the plugin still caused the same issue. But for information – i use the Assembler.

I tried a fresh reinstall on one site, and tried clearing cache on both sites, and looking online for solutions but couldn’t find one.

Failing all of that – i had to leave LifterLMS deactivated for now or my site won’t work. I can’t explore the LifterLMS settings because as soon as it is activated – my site will break.

I did see two more posts here from yesterday where other users also experienced the issue, in one user’s case it was making the site unresponsive and crashing it… so WP support also recognised LifterLMS as the source of the issue and disabled it. There must be a new issue with the LifterLMS plugin.

There hasn’t been any responses on those posts for a while so i wanted to also report the bug to confirm if anyone is working on a fix?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @draftandgraft,

We currently have an open issue about this in our GitHub repository. Looking at the conversations between our developers in our internal channel, it appears that there is already a patch/fix for this submitted as a pull request to our GitHub repository. However, at the moment, I cannot give an estimated timeline on when that fix will be tested, or when that fix will be released. Right now, the only workaround it to continue using LifterLMS 7.6.3 (instead of LifterLMS 7.7.0) until the fix has been released.

    Hi,

Thanks @reddotinmotion. Unfortunately i can’t roll back to the previous version – i don’t have that option on the plugins page.

I wondered if it was possible for LifterLMS to rollback?

I understand things can break from time to time though. I can keep working on my site and try it again at a later stage when the plugin updates.

I’m not that familiar with reporting issues with WP plugins yet – so i found a YT link on the plugin page, then an email on the YT page, then someone at LifterLMS gave me the www.ads-software.com link by email and i found the Github link on a notice in the forum after i posted there. It was tricky to figure out where to report it. I wasn’t intending to report on multiple platforms, i just kept getting redirected is all.

Update: I discovered i was missing a plugin on my new site called WP Rollback – that was why i couldn’t rollback. Have rolled back now and disabled auto-updates for now.

    Hi @draftandgraft,

That’s awesome. The free WP Rollback plugin is what we recommend when rolling back LifterLMS to a previous version.

Thanks again @reddotinmotion – i saw WP Rollback on a YT video and realised i was missing it. Another facepalm moment.

Thought it was a good idea to set up WP so i could just focus on design/content and courses for a couple of months – it has been a steeper learning curve than i realised ?? .. but hey these little learning experiences make for good content i guess.

On the other hand LifterLMS is very easy to use, despite the bump i’m still looking forward to setting it up and going pro with it.

I let the other user know too as now i’m unsure if WP support offered to roll it back for her, seems like they left it deactivated, so she can do the same if she wants.

    Thanks again,

    L.

Version 7.7.1 of LifterLMS just went out with a fix for this issue. Please let us know if things work after updating. And let us know if you continue to have issues here or with anything else. Thanks.

    Hi @strangerstudios ,

I just upgraded to 7.7.1 and all is working again for me ??

(i’m still in the process of actually building courses on the free version, maybe @ewafeuille or @jurasjo?might be able to check more fully for you)

Otherwise it’s all good for me! Thanks so much for the fast turnaround and all the help.

    L.
