Hey there. I have the free version of the LifterLMS plugin. Yesterday, my website stopped working, and I received confirmation from WordPress support that the latest update of the LifterLMS plugin caused this issue, so they disabled it. Now I’m seeking help here. I received the following information from WordPress support:

Message: [Repeated 13029 more times] PHP Warning: Attempt to read property “post_mime_type” on null in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/lifterlms/includes/class-llms-media-protector.php on line 420

    Kind: plugins

    Name: lifterlms

    File: /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/lifterlms/includes/class-llms-media-protector.php

    Hi @ewafeuille ,

Thanks for the report! Did this happen right away after upgrading to version 7.7, or was it after performing some actions within LifterLMS? For example, after adding a new image to a quiz question, which is where the new media protection functionality was added.

In the meantime, you can either revert to a backup if you haven’t already, or download the previous version of LifterLMS to install on the site here:

Hi, this happened after updating the plugin to version 7.7. My site stopped loading, which I learned from a Jetpack report that my site is responding intermittently, or extremely slowly. This can indicate an overloaded, under-powered, or misconfigured server. My site is probably loading for some users, but not for everyone. After this report, I checked if the site was loading, indeed it wasn’t responding, and WordPress support diagnosed that it was due to the plugin update of LifterLMS and they disabled it. So now I plan to revert to the old version of the plugin and wait for your instructions. Is this happening to other users as well, or just me? I haven’t made any changes to the site for several weeks, and I haven’t added any pictures anywhere either.

I was also affected by an issue with this plugin yesterday and had to disable it. It is now conflicting with WordPress media, so resources will not load on the website until it is deactivated. No help or sign anyone is looking into it.. a little worried this plugin might not be reliable enough for use if the support isn’t strong enough.

My plugins are all up to date.

I disabled each one which is how i was able to confirm it was LifterLMS that was the issue. I also reproduced it on two different sites.

I cleared cache on both sites. On one site i deleted and reinstalled.

I am seeing a notification message about media and nginx ? – but its redirecting to a 404 LifterLMS page so i’m not sure what that is about.

Nothing users can do to fix unless LifterLMS can find the problem with the plugin i think.

Exactly. For now, I’m reverting to the previous version of the plugin and waiting. Maybe the developer will sort out the bug. It’s a really cool plugin, between you and me, so I’m waiting to see what will happen.

Yes i’m excited to try it out, i had just taken a couple of days off to try and get it all set up… and seems i picked the wrong couple of days ??

Fingers crossed. I just saw they had a github link in the forum post so i posted it over there too, might get lucky and get a fix in time for weekend.

Hey, i used WP Rollback plugin to allow me to rollback Learning LMS to previous version. In case that helps you.

    Hi @draftandgraft,

That’s awesome. The free WP Rollback plugin is what we recommend when rolling back LifterLMS to a previous version.

Hello everyone. Today I will be working intensively on my courses, so I will also check how version 7.7 works after the repair. I can always go back to an older version of the plugin, so I can work with peace of mind and keep you informed. Thank you for your help and support. What would I do without all of you ??????

Hello everyone. A lot of work, a busy weekend. But everything works, version 7.7.1 of the plugin worked fine. And the current version 7.7.4 works fine with my site. I haven’t checked everything yet, but looking fast there are no errors
