    Hi,

    Your alert:

No LifterLMS Payment Gateways are currently enabled. Students will only be able to enroll in courses or memberships with free access plans.

For starters you can configure manual payments on the Checkout Settings tab. Be sure to check out all the available LifterLMS Payment Gateways and install one later so that you can start selling your courses and memberships.

won’t disappear from my wordpress dashboard no matter how many times i press x. How can I get rid of this permanently, it gets in the way and is really annoying. Is there a code snippet I can use to make it disappear?

Apart from that I really like the plugin. One thing that would be awesome to add is making free courses a little more intuitive. For example, a tick box for ‘this is a free course’ would be preferable to having to set every each lesson to being free and not having the free badge displaying for all of them. The paid functionality looks great, but for most people who’s first experience with the plugin will be to create a free course, it is not intuitive.

    Thanks.

  • @phil96,

At a glance I don’t see this reappearing after the “X” is clicked. I am personally not into ads and I understand your frustration. I wish the truth wasn’t that this little notice actually converts quite well for us. We are a free plugin but this is also our full-time income source so the ad is a bit of a necessary thing for us. But, I am really bummed that it’s somehow broken on your site and annoying you. We’re not trying to annoy you into paying us some money. I am really sorry and a bit embarassed.

Are you on the latest version of LifterLMS? Can you post a copy of your system report so I can recreate your environment to the best of my ability and see why the X clears it on a clean local install but not on yours?

Currently if you want a public course with no enrollment you do have to check each lesson. The intention was for free lessons to be made as part of a paid course — maybe you make the first section free but the rest is only available with enrollment.

You can create a free course with a free access plan but that requires data be collected.

All that to say: I agree with you and we’re planning some features to make “Public” courses that don’t require enrollment and don’t require you to mark each lesson individually as free.

I don’t currently have an ETA on this as we’ve talked about how to build it but haven’t prioritized the development yet. Maybe a few weeks but more than likely we’re a few months out from adding this update.

I hope you can make due in the meantime and let us know if you have more suggestions at https://lifterlms.com/feature-request

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for your reply.

To clarify, I can click the x and the notification disappears, however, when I change page or refresh it appears back again. This is the only plugin I experience this notification issue with which leads me to believe it is likely lifterlms specific. I am on the latest version 3.19.6 and also have divi lab enabled.

    Hi Thomas,

I’ve managed to solve this now. Disabling Siteground’s SG Optimiser Memcached fixed things for me. I had thought that caching was not the issue because i) I had flushed the cached and ii) I have cancelled so many notifications with Memcached enabled and not experienced this issue so maybe it is the type of notification.

That would be fantastic. I completely support the “Create free courses that do not require enrollment” trello request.

My use case is a requirement to build full free courses from which we can up-sell premium courses. SEO and google ranking benefit from the free courses is really important.

From experimenting with lifterlms the main issue I have noticed is that quiz content cannot be displayed to non enrolled users (and is therefore is not available to google bot and thus does not benefit search rankings). Is there a work around to be able to display the quiz content to everyone? Are you planning to add support for this in future or are there any compatible quiz plugins with lifterlms that can be combined with your platform to offer the functionality I need?

    Many Thanks.

Quizzes are currently not available outside of a course and are only available to enrolled students (not available for free lessons). We track all quiz data to a user and therefore it’s not currently possible to have anonymous quizzes. We plan to change this in a future version but it will require a few significant changes. We’ll see this added in LifterLMS 4.0, a major release which is currently being planned but we have absolutely no ETA on this major release or even when it will move into development. We know a lot of what we want to add but not when that will happen.

There’s quite a few stand alone quiz plugins available you could try to use if LifterLMS quizzes in their current state won’t work for you. Form plugins (like Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms) may meet your needs as well. I don’t have a favorite or a #1 recommended quiz plugin.

    Hope that helps,
