When the lightbox pops up in IE (checked both 8 and 9 so far) the background isn’t transparent — it’s coming up as a solid dark gray, and the way it blinks to that and then shows the print lightbox, it almost seems like a new page/tab is opening.

How do I get the background to be transparent as in other browsers so that it’s obvious this is a lightbox opening on top of the current page?

Yeah, we try to make it as unobtrusive as possible.

IE gets a little sketchy with JavaScript and HTML5, so we’re actually having to strip them all out in the behind the scenes. If we left transparent, you’d see the background move around behind the scenes and appear kind of whacky.

If it’s something that really bugs you, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

    Okay, thanks.

If you think this is the best/cleanest way to go, I’ll defer to your judgment on it.
