I’m having trouble getting the captions to appear in the light box. I have the show overlay text toggle on and I’ve tried changing the colors but don’t see anything appear. Is there something additional that needs to be done to display captions?

    Hi alyssa,

This sounds like it’s either an issue with the way it’s set up or perhaps just an issue with it not displaying correctly. Where are you adding the image (e.g. on a page/post/etc.), and how are you specifying that it should get the lightbox (e.g. using the “images with the following CSS selectors” option, the “all WordPress galleries” option, etc.)?

Would you be able to share the URL of the page the image is on? That should allow me to understand the above more clearly and also to suggest any potential custom CSS that might help if it’s a display issue.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! I am adding images through an acf custom block on a post. I am using the ‘Images with Class Set Below’ option.

I’m confirming if I’m able to share the URL, as it’s a client project, and will follow up with link if yes.

When I inspect the lightbox, I don’t see an element with the caption text in the markup. Is there a class name or something I could search for? It doesn’t appear that the caption text is even being used.

found a workaround solution – had to add a data attribute connecting the ulbdescription with the caption text. This is now pulling through.

    Hi alyssa,

I’m glad you found a solution that works for your situation. Normally that would be pulled through automatically if you were using an option like “All WordPress Galleries” where we know exactly where to look for and pull the caption data from. However, it is possible that, when using one of he custom options, like “images with class” or “images with selectors,” that the description/caption data is not automatically pulled through, which is why I was curious to know which option you were using. Glad to see you were able to beat me to diagnosing this and work out that solution.
