Lightbox from thumbnail in blog

    I want to add a NextGEN Gallery with lightbox in my blogs. For example in my blog about the waxwing I want just one thumbnail beside the topictitle (or somewhere else) and when clicked you get a lightbox viewer, where you can navigate to the next en former photo.

    How can I manage that? I’m using the Fithteen theme and NextGEN Gallery Optimizer Basic.

    @theodelaruelle – Please try the following shortcode:
    [ngg_images gallery_ids=1 display_type=photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails disable_pagination=1 images_per_page=1 show_all_in_lightbox=1 use_imagebrowser_effect=0]

    Then change the gallery_ids parameter as needed for each instance.

    Thank you.

    But unfortunately that doesn’t work. Because it isn’t a gallery, but some photos with a tag, I changed the code into:
    [ngg_images source="tags" container_ids="IJsvogel" display_type=photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails disable_pagination=1 images_per_page=1 show_all_in_lightbox=1 use_imagebrowser_effect=0]

    The only thing I see is just one large picture and a thumbnail under it (instead of 6 thumbs). When I click on the large picture, I don’t get a lightbox effect.

    Probably this isn’t the right way.

    @theodelaruelle – Unfortunately the ideas I offered for a single image opening a Lightbox with the full gallery will not work with a tag based gallery as you are trying to implement.

    Do you probably know any plugin that can implement a tag based gallery in a post?

    @theodelaruelle – We do offer a tag cloud style gallery and/or tag based display types but none at the moment that would offer a single image link to the full gallery.

    @theodelaruelle – The Tag Cloud display is available within the Insert Gallery Window (IGW) / Add Gallery button interface.
