Like the plugin..

  • I like the way the plugin looks and functions alot. It is my favorite of its kind. However, when investigating why there were so many requests from my home page through pingdom’s web site speed test, it shows that 39 of the 100 calls from my entire home page are coming from this plugin. (also three that seemed kind of strange to “b.scorecardresearch.com”) I am just using the plugin for links to my social media accounts. It seems to add more than a second to site load time.

    Some further investigating by the plugin author shows, that most of this is the add this extensions, so I removed them (in question 1 and 6), and am happier with the plugin

    We don’t have anything to do with b.scorecardresearch.com. Also, what you describe shoudln’t happen.

    Hi Kevin,

    We investigated further and discovered that the addthis-extension is the culprit.

    Could you please deactivate it (i.e. deselect the share-icon which allows you to share via 200 networking sites, both under question 1 as well as question 3) and let me know if it is fixed?

    I deactivated the add this extension, and it only went down by 1 request, so from 100 to 99? So not sure

    ok, deactivating share in question #6 “Do you want to display icons at the end of every post?” brought it down to 83 requests (so 16 less than with it active) on the front page. I also dont see the “b.scorecardresearch.com” stuff anymore. Thanks for the help
