    Hi,

Try going to the following page:

    https://portal.aws.amazon.com/gp/aws/manageYourAccount

Check that you are signed up for the ‘Product Advertising API’.

    Hope that helps!

I have double checked everything, all settings and keys. It still does the same thing. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks so much for you help.

    Hi,

Can you post the entire shortcode you are using, I’ll try it on my test site.

Also what locale are you viewing the page from?

    Cheers,

    Paul

also, i just used the search function on the plugin for
Visual Guide to Chart patterns. It worked fine and inserted the
link [amazon asin=1118301447]. But, on the page the only thing that shows is the work AMAZON. Kinda at a loss here.

ok, hate to be so much trouble, but i did it again using the My Favorites templeate and it worked. But other templates do not work.

    Hi,

As you have discovered, if you don’t select a template it just puts a simple text link (‘Amazon’ in this case).

The My Favourites (and Carousel, and a couple of others) do not need any ‘live’ data so should work without the product lookup working.

Since the search function is working your AWS account must be set up okay.

Is the ‘live data’ option enabled in the settings?

If possible could you provide a link to the offending page/post of your site?

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hello,

I’m having a similar issue with this plugin not working. I set up the AWS public and private keys, all of my links are tagged correctly, and all of the associate ID’s are in the plugins area. After I set up my site, I cleared my cache, then manually set up a uk based transparent proxy (79.143.82.242 port 8080) and did a google search for cnn, which sent me to the cnn international version – confirming that the proxy does identify my location as being outside of the us.

I then went to my site, clicked on a product link, and after clicking on a link the first page I got to on amazon.com said “sorry, we need to verify that your not a robot” and it asked me to type in a captcha phrase. I typed it in, then went back to my site and clicked the link again and it sent me to amazon.com not amazon.co.uk.

The Amazon Data cache is checked
My AWS keys are validated and appear to be working
My ip2nation database is up to date, with a date stamp of less than 24 hours old.
For Wishlist Template I have Add to Cart Selected
    Wishlist length = 5
    Wishlist type = random
    Use Media Library = unchecked
    Localize Amazon Link = checked
    Plugin Associate ID’s = checked
    Global Defaults = checked
    Create Search Links = unchecked
    Multinational Link = checked
    Condition Option = Use Default

My site is https://www.camcorderchris.com. If you could take a look at it and see if you can tell why it’s not working, I would appreciate it very much.

    Thanks.

    Hi Chris,

There are lots of links to the Amazon site on your site, I can’t see any that are generated by the plugin though.

Can you point to a page that has [amazon …] style shortcodes in?

One thing to try to check the localisation is to visit https://www.ip2nation.com and check that it correctly identifies your location – this is the database that the plugin uses.

    Paul

    Hey Paul,

I’ve spend about the last 2 years working on my site, which is full of Amazon Links, you are correct.

I did try https://www.ip2nation.com and I can confirm that my normal connection is US based, and with the proxy in place, it shows up as the UK, so that works.

Do I have to re-create each link using amazon short code on my site in order to use this plugin effectively, or will existing links translate over?

Hopefully I won’t have to re-create all links, that will take a while.

If I don’t have to re-create each link then it’s possible that another plugin (I used to use Extendazon, and Affiliate Link Localizer) may be interfering with your plugin’s ability to modify links.

I’m also have the header code in place for Amazon Publisher Studio.

Do you think any of those three plugins are interfering with yours?

Do I have to re-create all links on my site using your plugin / short code?

    I appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Unfortunately the Amazon Link plugin does not affect existing Amazon links, depending on what you wish to do there are a number of options:

1/ If you just want localisation – use the Affiliate Link Localizer plugin or similar

2/ If you want some of the features of Amazon Link on all your links – I could probably provide a method of importing all your existing links and converting them to shortcodes, especially if they are all of a specific format.

3/ If you just want to use features of the Amazon Link plugin for future links. Then all new links will be automatically localised by the Amazon Link plugin, but old ones will be localised using option 1. Not sure if the two plugins will clash, you will need to ensure your associate IDs are in both plugins.

Let me know if you are interested in option 2, although its fair to say there may be some risk involved (its a global search and replace across all your site content)!

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hey Paul,

Unfortunately the Link localizer plugin appears to be dead and is nto working, so for #1, there is no other alternative that I have found

    2. If you could provide a method of importing / converting site links into your plugin’s format, that would be great! For all of my site links, I used the amazon link banner at the top of your page when your logged in, then navigated to the link section, then highlighted just the actual product link text that includes my tag, and put that into the custom URL of the images and various pieces of text on my pages. Nearly every single link non the page has this format.

I understand the risk involved, I will have proper backups in place prior to implementing this process.

    Hi,

If you could post the two styles of link (as they look in the Edit Post – Content – Text view), I’ll see if I can create something for you.

I guess everything from the opening ‘<a‘ to the closing ‘</a>

    Cheers,

    Paul

I’ll Post it a few ways, hopefully this shows up right:

Inside the “custom url” of each image is this simple structure:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AP9GQRC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00AP9GQRC&linkCode=as2&tag=httpbabywensi-20

The full URL inside of text view from the editing post area:

    <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AP9GQRC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00AP9GQRC&linkCode=as2&tag=httpbabywensi-20"><img class="alignleft" style="margin: 5px; border: 0px none;" src="https://content.etilize.com/Thumbnail/1024163593.jpg?noimage=logo" alt="HP ProBook 4440s C9K59UT 14&quot; LED Notebook - Intel - Core i3 i3-3110M 2.4GHz - Metallic Gray" width="160" height="160" border="0" /></a><img src="https://www.lduhtrp.net/image-7188647-10452542" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" />

    Another text link example:

<li><a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AP9GQRC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00AP9GQRC&linkCode=as2&tag=httpbabywensi-20"> Click Here to Learn More about the HP ProBook 4440s </a></li>

    Paul,

I’m happy to pay you for this custom coding ability if your willing to provide support for this structure. Even better, maybe you can build the structure to import the links that are on your existing site structure, and then release that bit of code as the upgraded “pro” version of the amazon link plugin, I would pay $20 for that functionality and the support to go along with it, esp if I could get access to a private forum for training on new features and support on how to fully use the product with screencasts, etc. Something to think about.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Chris
