Likr and Share buttons not visible in IE

This works great in firefox but when I hover over the icon in ie nothing appears in the cloud (should have “like” and “share” buttons). It is a widget in the footer. I think it is probably theme related as the regular fb developer buttons will not show either. An ideas?
