Since today I have the problem that I get a limit value error when I upload a table from csv file. I have only 2 small tables and I have a memory limit of 96MB at my server what should be more than enough.

I contacted the administrator of alfahosting and he checked the problem. He said the failure is maybe in the script which tries to set the limit at 2048MB.

I’m running the latest WP version and also latest TablePress version.

Is it possible that it is a bug along with the new WP version ? Also I disabled all other plugins to check if there is a problem with other plugins but is not.

    Thank you for help !

    Best regards
    Erwin

Maybe this additional server message helps:

Allowed memory size of 100663296 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /var/www/webxxxx/html/xxxx.com/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/classes/class-render.php on line 246

When uploading the 172kb table in csv format also the FF browser is hanging up.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Also, sorry for the long wait for a reply. As a I was on a long vacation without internet access the last couple weeks, I could not reply earlier.

I’m not really sure why this is happening to you, but I can only assume that your site is using several plugins that need a lot of PHP memory. TablePress just happens to be the one that reaches the limit because of that.
Setting the limit higher should not be a problem, as it’s just the limit. This does not mean that the amount of memory will always be used.

Another idea could also be to update to a newer version of PHP on the server, as those need less memory.

    Regards,
    Tobias
