Limit number of administrators on a WordPress-installation?

Use one of the role management plugins and remove the user creation rights from editors, would be my solution if i were looking to do the same..

Here’s 2 plugins to get you started (personally i prefer the members one, but use whichever suits your needs best)..

I would love to have this ability as well…

I have multiple sites where editors is granted the possibility to add more users, but i don’t want them to add Administrators.

I use the plugin Role Manager, but would just as Atle love to prevent them from creating more admins.

I want them to create editors etc., just not new admin accounts…

If neither plugin helps do what you want there only remains two options.

1. Write a script or code to do yourself.
2. Hire a developer to write one for you.

* or option 3

3. Float around the forum hoping someone will offer code to do it for you.

I’d not put much hope in option 3, because it’s by no means 5 minutes worth of work.. it would require plenty of testing and an experienced coder, to get it right.

All the same, i hope you’re able to find what you’re looking for..

I found a workaound, but would still be interested in a plugin for this purpose…

Just so i don’t need to change core files again when we update WP ??
