When I change the “blog pages show at most” to 8 visible posts, you don’t seem to be able to access the rest of my blog posts.

A “previous posts” button is created but when you click on it, it brings you to an error page.

Is there a simple way to automatically create pages for the rest of my blogs or is this something I need to do manually?

    Many thanks,
    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle,

Sorry to hear about the trouble- this is an interesting one. There’s not usually anything needed manually for this to work…you can see how it typically works right out of the box on the demo site, here:

Are you by any chance using any type of redirection plugin, or anything along those lines? Or have you added anything to your .htaccess file that might could have triggered a redirect? If you aren’t able to find what’s causing it, feel free to submit a support ticket with temporary admin access and we’d be happy to login briefly and track it down for you:

    Hi Steven,
Well that makes me feel better that it’s supposed to just work. Not sure what the problem is then.

I don’t have any redirection plugins (that I know of) and don’t even know what the .htaccess file is so no concern that I’ve changed something there. I’ve submitted a support request as you suggested so hopefully someone will be able to fix this for me.

Thanks for getting back to me.

    Best,
    Michelle

Sounds good Michelle, thanks! Just followed up over there.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Michelle,

Just following up, this turned out to be caused by a lone dot (“.”) in your permalink settings…I’ve removed this and the pagination is working correctly now both for the main blog feed and the category, search, and archive pages.

If you run into any other issues, just let us know…thanks again!
