limit on items in custom menus 3.0?

  • Hey all,
    I’m building a custom menu for a site I’m developing which has 8 main sections/categories, each with several child/grandchild options.

    I’ve got about three of them done without issue, but now when I add items it seems like WordPress won’t let me change anymore- when I hit save menu the changes are gone and I’m stuck at the point where only those three sections are completed.

    Is there a setting I need to check, or has anyone else had an issue like this?

    – what is happening
    – how to reach this place or the bug tracker
    – how to report a bug
    – how to explain the problem in English

    And maybe there are more hosts using older configurations in the non-English speaking part of the world, with users never reaching as far as this forum, not even mentioning the bug tracer with it’s strange interface and double registration.

    Sad to be back, but…

    Today I faced the problem again – now I’m still able to have 41 items in the menu not more – after switching to another theme based on the original (Graphene). Switched back to the theme wihtout luck.
    I have checked with my ISP, but the setting are 0, so it should work.
    They have setted the memory_limit variable from 50 to 280 MB. Didn’t helped.

    Try asking them to set it to 5000, instead of 0, maybe it defaults to an other value.

    And ask the set both values:

    suhosin.post.max_vars = 5000
suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000

    i gotta make 2 menus and hack the css so they look like one to get what we need …

    Another possible solution: increasing the PHP memory seems to have worked as well.

    Ok I have done every change possible, my host has increased the suhosin to 9000 increased the memory limit and nothing makes a difference, have also found added bits and pieces to add to the .htaccess, but all fail, still stuck anyone got any suggestions

    Shoot…changing suhosin via php.ini didn’t work, changing suhosin via .htaccess didn’t work, and upping my php memory limit to 256MB in PHP.ini and wp-config.php didn’t work!

    I’m out of options and stuck at 52 menu items. ??

    Same issue.

    I run several websites. I installed wordpress with the same theme to all of them, and modified them all exactly the same way. They are also on the same host. Only one of them is having this issue, it maxes out at 24 or so menu items… I don’t know if this is a host issue then, or what…?
