Limit one review per single user

    Hi there,

    i’ve searched a lot online and all i’ve got is this answer https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/223971/woocommerce-only-one-review-per-verified-buyer but that’s no useful to me: it breaks my website.

    So, i’m asking what a lot of user have asked before: is there any way to limit just one review per user per single product?

    I mean, why users can leave all the reviews they want? And why this isn’t fixed before?

    It seems years that people are asking for this, i’ve used Joomla, Prestashop and Spotify and WooCommerce is the only e-commerce platform with such a bug.

    So is there any way to fix? Do anyone have fixed it?

    Hi there,

    Out of the box, WooCommerce doesn’t have any native functions in that regard. Practically speaking, this also means that implementing that would require either a 3rd party plugin or custom coding from a web developer (we have a great list of partners at https://woocommerce.com/customizations/).

    On a different note – What about stores where a customer buys the same product albeit weeks, months or years apart? Surely they should be able to leave a subsequent review in case their experience has changed (especially if its for the better)?

    I think a such an important plugin like WooCommerce should listen to customer requests and implement new features every time, to give an ever more complete experience. This has been in demand for years but has never been implemented.

    Regarding the rest, there is no ecommerce on earth that allows you to leave multiple reviews for a single product, and in any case if what you say is true then insert a time limit (one review every x days) or a review for each subsequent purchase.

    Justifying is useless, it is absolutely not logical that a person can buy a product and leave 1000 reviews one after the other.

    We appreciate your reply.

    The Product Reviews Pro extension allows you to change this behavior so that a customer is only able to update their existing review on a given product rather than leave multiple reviews.

    Just to mention, to suggest an idea to the developers, I would recommend using this ideas board: https://ideas.woocommerce.com/
