Limit the number of characters in recent posts on sidebar

  • We have some longer post titles and it is causing our recent posts (in the sidebar) to break to the next line. I am looking for a plug-in , hack or code to resolve this issue.

    For example a current recent post might read:
    This is a really long title for a blog but it is much needed.

    And I need it to only read:
    This is a really long title…

    Can anyone help?

  • How are you generating the recent posts? with code in sidebar.php or a widget? if using code, can you post that portion of the code? (not all of sidebar.php)

    The recent posts are populated using the Recent Posts widget which comes built into the WP code.
