Limited access for users using magic link

    Hi

    At the moment I have around 200 users on my website and they all have a personal login, with both name and code. I want them to stay on my website, but I want to expand with external users. I want those to access the site with a magic link, but to only have access to part of the website. Is that possible?

    That also means that they are not directed to the same frontpage, as the present users are directed to a login page and the external users will be directed to the “send a link to my email” page.

    And I want to customize the link/url, is that possible as well?

    Hi @sheilanana,

    I’m not sure if I understand your question correctly. What do you mean by external users? If the user exists on your WordPress, magic login should work with the email/username of that existing user.

    You can’t customize the login link that is sent within the email, but you can place the login form through [magic_login_form]shortcode to any page of your website. (details – https://handyplugins.co/magic-login-pro/docs/shortcode/)

    – Thank you. The links that are send by email, are they endless? So they can be send multiple times a day to different users? It is because, I have a lot of users that will be using the magic link and at multiple times. For security it is good that the link expires, but is it possible to not have a expiration time?

    Yes, it’s necessary to have an actual user on the WP database.

    The links expire based on the token lifespan. (5 minutes by default) The emails are endless with the free version, there is some additional option that exists in pro which allows preventing brute force attacks and throttling the login requests.

    Okay – but is it possible when you have the IP check, to make those IP adresses that has already used the magic login and are approved, not to go true that process when wanting to enter the site again?

    IP check means the IP address has to be matched with the requested IP during the login process. Please reach us through [email protected] for the support of premium functionalities.
