• Hello Frank,

I am a big fan of your plugin for years, thanks for this!

Meanwhile, I have accumulated 65+ quick tags. It has just happened to me that more quick tags will not be saved. The saving button is there, I can press it, backend will reload – but new quick tags never show up.

I have deleted some older entries – now I can save new quick tags again. So there seems to be a limitation for the number of entries…

Is this on purpose? If not, could you remove this limit in a next version?
I would appreciate your effort very much.

BTW, while I think of it: I have just made a donation as a “thank you” for your good work.

    Kind regards,

    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

I haven’t a limitation of tags in the settingspage. But maybe is limit of the database, the field for options. The options-value is a longtext field — https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/string-type-overview.html; short LONGTEXT | 4,294,967,295 (232?1) bytes = 4 GiB

Maybe this is the problem. You should check the database.

    … that was quick :=)

I will let my developer take a look… and will report back if I find out.

    Kind regards,

is there no workaround possible without us squashing the DB?
most user (yeah me too) should stay away from the DB

    …. done.

Hi everyone, I recently had something similar happen, where if I added new quicktags, they either wouldn’t be saved, or they would save but other quicktags would be removed.

Thanks to Frank’s first reply to this thread, I figured out that it is indeed a database limit. Unchecking unneeded quicktag boxes from the plugin settings screen did the trick for me — no need to actually muck around with the database.

The lesson: Only add quicktags to the edit screen where they will be used. No point having “just in case” quicktags… ??
