Limited to 93 markers?
-
Very easy to use and intuitive plug-in. However only 93 markers of the 100+ I added, end up as saved. Is this a limit to the number of markers per map? Is there any way around this? Or is the number of markers in the pro version guaranteed to be unlimited?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

There is no enforced limit, and we’ve heard some users having this issue, but we haven’t been able to reliably replicate the problem to find the source of it.
How did you add all of the markers? Manually? If so, occasionally it happens that a marker gets saved as empty. Try to delete that marker and that might clear up the issue.
I’ve just had the same issue. Trying to add no. 94. Save the marker. Update the map and on reload disappears.
OK yes!!! Just read your info and I had 2 blank markers in there. I deleted and saved. But now only showing 82 markers and not 91!!!
But I was able to add 2 new markers and they have saved OK.
I just now don’t know which other markers have gone missing and also don’t know if it will stop again when I reach 93 ??
Hi @kaibobble
There is no technical limit, so that shouldn’t continue happening. Also, make sure you update to the latest version that we pushed live last week.
You should see a notice about upgrading your Markers as well. Please run that. If you miss it and need to run it again, you can navigate to this url in your Dashboard:
example.com/wp-admin/options.php?page=gmb-upgrades
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
I have gone through and added 10 new markers, they added fine. On save I now have only 85 again!!!!
There is something seriously wrong in the code of your plugin somewhere.
The fact you have this still available to people allowing them to waste time adding 93 markers before they realise it isn’t working!
I guess I have no choice to go and find another plugin and add them all again.
This plugin should be removed until this issue is fixed!
Hi @kaibobble
This actually is not a “known issue”, but it does crop up with users occasionally. We believe it’s related to your server resources in one way or another. We have not been able to replicate this behavior on any local or live environment that we test with at all, which leads us to believe it’s related to server system limitations of some kind but we cannot narrow it down to which limitation it is yet.
If you’ve moved on I understand, but if you can go to “Settings > Maps Builder” and then the System Info tab and provide that information here, that might help further in discovering what the problem might be.
Hi Matt
Following up on your earlier feedback, with some delay unfortunately.
So last time only 93 markers of the 100+ ended up being saved. I have updated the plug-in as well as the markers and obviously I’m also using the latest WP version.
I just tried to add a new 94th marker, saved the concept and… ended up with only 84 saved markers. Now every time I try to add a 85th, it won’t save and I keep on being stuck with 84 markers. I tried it on a Mac as well as a Windows version but makes no chance.
Meanwhile I have moved on to another plugin too. I still would prefer the Map Builder because esthetically it would be a better match with the site so if you come up with a solution please keep me in the loop. Here’s the requested System Info:

Hello both @kaibobble and @sarahvan
Thank you for your server info, that’s very helpful. We just yesterday confirmed with a Maps Builder user that upping their Max Input Vars to 5000 resolves this issue. Here’s two ways you can safely/reliably do that:
1) Try this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/php-settings/ It allows you to change PHP settings. Look for max_input_vars and change it to 5000
2) Contact your host and request that they raise it for your install. We’re looking into other ways to handle the markers, but none of them are very appealing when it comes to working with WordPress.
Let me know how it goes for you. Thanks!
Hi Matt and hope you are well-
i have the same issue as mentioned above. can’t get pass 86 markers on the free version of the plugin.
i tried both solutions you provide on the different thread of the forum:
– latest upgrade: example.com/wp-admin/options.php?page=gmb-upgrades
– increase max_input_vars to 5000 through the suggested pluginwould love to know if you have another potential fix for this issue.

HI @oscarfrench — nothing stands out in your server info. The best bet at this point would be for you to break up your CSV file into multiple files of no more than 75 markers each. I know that’s not ideal but that’s a sure-fire way to get it all in there.
Thanks!
Hi @webdevmattcrom and thks for the swift reply.
happy to try the CSV way, however i dont have my markers in that format at the time, i just added them one by one over time through the map builder editor. Any pointers on how to do this? is there an import/export csv function in the plugin?
thanks!
@webdevmattcrom, just following up on the CSV functionality. with my markers compiled in that format, how do i upload the csv file?
cheers!
