• Is there a way to reduce the number of Next Pages? I know how to limit the number of posts per page but I can’t seem to find a way to limit how many pages will show on the Next Page navigation.

    Anyone on this issue?

I don’t remember any way for that: it will show the “prev posts” link until it runs out of posts ??

Forever? So if over a few years you have several hundred posts it will continue to link to “previous posts”?

Yes, it will. Mine goes up to page 175, for instance….

Well then there is a big duplicate content issue here.

And why is that? Could you, please, elaborate?

As has been discussed in many areas, the more times the same post appears under different URLs the greater is the chance that search engines will consider this as duplicate content and potentially penalize a site.

Right now WP brings duplicate content into play via index pages, category pages, archive, post page, feeds and maybe more. It would be nice to eliminate as much of this as possible and having the option to limit the number of “Next Pages” or previous posts would be quite helpful. You can see a big discussion of this issue here:
