Limiting product visibility for store managers on the backend

Does the User Role Editor allow me to restrict which product categories are visible to different shop managers on the backend of my site? For example, if my store has Manager A and B and the products are assigned to either Category A or Category B, I want to Manager A to only be able to view/edit/publish products in Category A and not Category B, and vice versa for Manager B. I know I can restrict product visibility on the frontend, but I haven’t been able to find a way to do this on the backend. Thank you for any help you are able to provide!
