How do I insert line breaks in the TEXTAREA “default value”?
There is other topics about this where it was recommended using the
    `
character, I works the first time but this character is not loaded when you reopen the form to edit it, so the next time you save the form after any change, no matter where it was, the char is not saved back into the “default value” area cause it was not loaded there to begin with, and all is lost. So not a good solution.

  • Hey @diegora,

    Thanks for writing in!

You may want to try using the self-closing <br /> tag.

Here’s a screenshot of a quick test I did. And here is a screenshot of the email I received after submitting the form.

When you have a chance, could you please give that tag a try?

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks ??

Hi, I said TEXTAREA field default value, not the email notification. Thanks.

    Hey @diegora,

    I apologize for the confusion!

We don’t have a field called TEXTAREA, so if you could please let me know the name of the field you’re referring to I’d be happy to help further.

In case it helps, I’ve included a link to our guide on all of the fields available with WPForms here.

You can also see the name of the field you’re currently working with directly in the form builder. Here’s a screenshot of where you can find this.

    Thanks!

TEXTAREA is the name of your “Paragraph Field” in HTML.
Still waiting for an answer. Thanks.

    Hi @diegora,

    Thanks for clarifying!

However, it looks like we don’t currently allow HTML in the Default Value or Placeholder of our fields so there’s not a way that we can add line breaks to the text added to these areas.

I completely understand why it’d be important to be able to edit these accordingly so I’ve made a note of the feature request and we’ll keep it on our radar to be reviewed as we plan out our roadmap for the future.

I apologize again for the trouble here and thank you for the suggestion!
