Can I connect a MaxButton to a shortcode, rather than a URL? I use a plugin to generate shortcodes that send users to Paypal. However, the plugin uses a standard “Buy Now” button. Can I use MaxButtons to create a new, better-looking button and then link the new button to the existing shortcode? I’ve looked at your documentation and from what I can see I can only identify a URL for the button, not a shortcode.

    Hi,

Yes you can’t use a shortcode in a shortcode. That would result in a button within the button.

Which plugin are you using for the paypal function? It may support another way of doing this, like using rel, of special style classes.

Bas, I’d like to use MaxButtons with Easy PayPal Button Pro by Scott Paterson (WPPlugin).

That’s not a free plugin so I can’t really check how it works. I suggest asking their support about this. You can ask them if you can use / link other buttons with the plugin, and how to do that.

The free version is PayPal Buy Now Button by Scott Paterson. It’s on the WP repository at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-ecommerce-paypal/

Ah didn’t see that one. I took a quick at that one, but it seems very basic so I don’t think you can do that. You can still ask the author though if he plans something like that.

Thanks, Bas. I’ve opened a ticket with the author. Appreciate your time and will consider MaxButtons regardless.
