link colour in Easel theme with ocean scheme

Hi all, I’m using the Easel theme with the Ocean scheme. I’m trying to change the colour of the links by editing the a:link, a:visited and a:hover colour values in the style.css file, but nothing happens.

If I use the Default scheme and not Ocean, I get the colours I am after, so I’m guessing it’s something to do with the scheme selection.

Is there a way to change the link colours in the ocean scheme? I’m very new to all this, so please forgive me if this is a basic question!!
