Link encoding

hi this works great, but i need to know how the links are encoded as i’m trying to track links pulled from a solr db and as is they aren’t being encoded, ill have to set em up manually.

googles example code hasn’t worked for me:
<a href="https://www.example.com" onclick=”trackOutboundLink(‘https://www.example.com’); return false;">Check out example.com</a>

could you give an example of the way links are encoded throught this plugin, as in
<a href="https://nytimes.com" xxxxx?xxxxxx?>nytimes</a>
