Link format (plugin vs. Amazon-generated)
-
This seems like a great plugin. I recently joined the Amazon Associates program and had a ton of existing Amazon links already on my site. This plugin seemed like a much better solution than trying to go back through all those old links to add my ID manually (I assume “affiliate” and “associate” are interchangeable in this context?).
Anyway, I noticed that the link format being generated by the plugin doesn’t necessarily match the format created by Amazon’s site when I generate a link from my Associates home page. For example, the plugin will create:
https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1612182364/{my associate id}
But Amazon says it should be:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1612182364/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1612182364&linkCode=as2&tag={my associate id}
Will the format being generated by the plugin still be recognized correctly? I’m assuming so but since I’m new to the affiliate/associate thing I wanted to make sure.
Thanks.
