What I want is to have a link on a page. When clicked, a widget should show the contents of a post (or another page, doesn’t matter).
So I want to have a kind of master-detail setup: on the master page are some references, when clicked, they are shown on the details page (widget?) without changing anything on the master page.
New @ WordPress so not sure if this is really straight forward or requires coding… Perhaps there’s even a widget out there that does exactly what I want, but I did not find it yet.

    Hello vince271,
sorry, but could you explain it a bit more detailed?
What I understand is a page with (reference-) links to other pages with details? That should be a normal navigation thru your pages…
Or should the “master page” always stay and the details should come up additionally?

Hi WiSch, yes, indeed the master page should always stay. When a link is clicked in the master page, a page (or post) should be displayed in the right sidebar…

OK, that’s not done in a minute.
As a hint, you can try something with custom code in a widget with the help of a plugin.
    Could be a start…
