Link from dashboard to write new post with category?

  • I’d like to add a link to my dashboard that will go to the write post page with a particular category already selected. Some of my users are not that comfortable on the web and keep forgetting to select the categories their posts should go in. I’ve got the Dashboard Editor plugin installed, I just want to know if its possible to create a link of this type.

  • If you set the default post category under Options > Writing to the one you want, this is the category all posts will be assigned to when no category is selected. It’s overridden when one or more categories are chosen in the post editor.

    This doesn’t suit your needs?
