Link function fails

The slider functions properly except for the link function. I enter the link to an amazon page in the backend and in the front end it shows when you hover the cursor over it. But when you click on it nothing happens. The link to the amazon page does not open. You can only use the mouse to control the sliders functions like choosing the next image. I tried everything I coukd think of, like changing settings, turning open in new window on / off. Nothing worked. You can right click on the image and choose open in new window, but that is not something people will expect. It should work with a single left mouseclick. Can anyone help me out?
