Link Harvest Plugin on WP says it’s 1.1, actually is 1.0

    when you go to the Alex King’s Link Harvest plugin’s page at
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/link-harvest/

    it says it’s version 1.1, but when i download it and deactivate and delete my old version and upload and activate the new one it says it’s version 1.0 and that version 1.1 is available.

    “There is a new version of Link Harvest available. Download version 1.1 here.”

    I downloaded and installed it twice (after deleting the previous versions)

    I’ve tried running it and keep getting error messages.

    it processes about 40 of 344 posts and pages and then it stops gives an error message “The link harvest failed, make sure you have harvesting enabled in your options.”

    but i did have it enabled. i’m running wp 2.3.3 I never was able to get any version of the plugin to work.

    could someone please post the 1.1 version on the wp site?

  • Have you tried contacting Alex regarding the new version of the plugin?

    Yes I did but his auto responder autoreply kinda indicated a response was unlikely from him and to post it on the wp support forums, so I did.

    maybe there’s another version of the plugin on one of the coding sections or somewhere else on wp.org.

    doesn’t seem like he has the latest on his website.

    Hi, did you see this post, https://alexking.org/blog/2008/03/30/wordpress-25-plugin-compatibility#comment-62310? I removed the extra bit and it worked like a charm. as for the new version, I should just ignore until Alex gets around to updating it properly

    My Link Harvest doesn’t work on wordpress 2.5
    I manage to activate it, but when I run it (harvest my blog), it let me start, but ends almost immediately with this message:
    “The link harvest failed, make sure you have harvesting enabled in your options.”
    But I have it enabled!!!
    I see that it harvest 1 or 2 links but that’s all.
    Has anyone a solution?
    Because this is a great plugin and I’m desperate with not achieving the all operation…
