link images not appearing on link widget

I put a link widget on a sidebar and the only thing wrong is that the image (thumbnail) doesn’t appear. On my computer, it displays as an x.
The images are hosted on imageshack and I have the correct address in the URL. For example: https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/855/beatporticon.png/I am an amatuer. Can someone help ASAP please.
