We have a notification email that gets sent out when a new student is added to our system (A WP site).

The link is set to point to a vimeo URL with a video explaining how to sign in and set their password.

The URL is something like vimeo.com/84769849

However, when the email is recieved the URL is now something like email.perpetual.education/j8hjkshfaiyds767f8sa967sda

And because this new URL is pointing to a insecure http address, it’s showing that the site is insecure and the browser will not proceed.

“Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to email.perpetual.education because this website requires a secure connection.”

Why is this happening? I can’t see any settings where I’ve set the email.perpetual.education subdomain. Can I change something on my DNS end?

Please help us understand why this is happening and how we can address it. : )

    Hi @sheriffderek,
    Thanks for your message.

I’m not sure why this is happening but it’s not anything to do with BNFW. It most likely is something to do with your email set-up, such as how your SES provider handles links (if you use one), or how your host sends your emails.

I would investigate these two routes. You may need to contact them for assistance.

Hope this helps and you get to the bottom of it.
