Link in Page Ignores Global Settings

I am using a block template and completely customizing it. I have set the colors of the links to be gold and a darker gold when hovering. This works on the footer, however the page itself is underlined and hovering is red. I tried adding css to set the colors, but that didn’t solve the issue. Inspecting the page shows that this red hover is inherited from body.home.page-template-default. Is this because of the template, even though I already customized the colors? How can I override this to have links in pages not underlined and the correct hover color?

since you are using a block template you can adjust the blocks in the global styles of the editor. Once in the editor there is an icon on the tool bar that is half white half black. When you click it there is an option for blocks. Move down until you see the block you want to change. For example, the site title has a link in it. So select the block and click on the link option for that block it will allow you to change the color for both the color and hover state.
The problem you will probably face is that links are disabled by default in the editor. You can enable them by adding code to the theme.json file. There are two ways to do this. First by adding it to the block section in the setting section.

"settings": { "color":{ "link":false }Just make sure they are added once. If they already have a settings or block section change it in that section don’t just cut and paste the code.
